Costa Calida: Welcome to the hot coast!

Costa Calida – The ‘hot coast” is the coastline of the Murcia region and as its name suggests it can be very warm in the summer months and maintains an average annual temperature of 18C. The coastline is varied with rugged sandy bays at one extreme and the long smooth beaches of the Mar Menor on the other. The Mar Menor is a giant salt water lagoon, and the surrounding area is now seeing an influx of government investment on golf courses, sporting facilities, nfrastructure and conservative tourism.

This has attracted many quality developers, who are building very affordable sympathetic housing ideal for British clientele in search of a holiday home with rental potential. It’s most famous area is the La Manga strip containing 4 championship golf courses and world class sporting facilities surrounded by villas and apartment complexes that will rent throughout the year on sporting facilities alone. Plans are in place for a significant increase in capacity at Murcia airport and the budget airlines are already fighting over preferential flight slots, this improved accessibility will further enforce the current trend of above average price growth in the area..
